Preparing for eyelash extensions

  • Our eyelash technicians are skilled in several styles from natural to really impressive, and know how to recommend suitable and safe styles according to the customer’s wishes, natural eyelashes and eye shape. However, we recommend that you already look for pictures of eyelashes that please you, so that we can best make eyelashes that match your wishes.
  • Please come to eyelash extensions with as clean eyelashes as possible, without eye make-up. Our eyelash technicians always perform an initial cleaning before application, but if there is a lot of makeup on the eyelashes, some residues may remain even after cleaning. This weakens the permanence of the eyelash extensions, because a permanent adhesive bond requires completely clean natural eyelashes underneath.
  • Please remove the contact lenses from the eyes before your lash extension appointment.
  • If you have weak eyelashes and you want to strengthen them, you can use an eyelash serum that matches with lash extensions.

When lash extensions can not be done?

  • The age limit for our lash extensions is 16 years. With the parents’ permission, we also do lash extensions for customers a couple of years younger on a one-off basis (e.g. for parties).
  • If you have an eye infection or other inflammation in the eye area or lids, unfortunately, for hygiene reasons, we cannot do eyelash extensions for you.
  • If you have a confirmed allergy to acrylates or other eyelash extension glue ingredients, unfortunately we cannot make eyelash extensions for you.
  • Eyelash extensions can only be done on healthy eyes. If you have fresh eyeliner pigmentation or other open wounds near your eyes, these should heal before applying eyelash extensions. If you have a disease that affects your eyes or eyelashes, or if you have had an eye-related procedure, please contact your doctor before applying extensions.

Pregnancy / breastfeeding & beauty care

Hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can effect the skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, etc., so taking any beauty treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore the customer’s responsibility.

Home care instructions for eyelash extensions

The primary and most important home care for lash extensions is regular care with the right kind of products. Extensions should be cleaned daily with a cleaning product intended for them. The function of natural eyelashes is to protect the eyes from dust, dirt, grease and sweat. Eyelash extensions glued to your own eyelashes collect them easily, which is why daily cleaning is very important. The cleaning product intended for eyelash extensions takes care of the hygiene of the eyelash extensions and the eyes, improves the permanence of the eyelash extensions, and keeps the volume lash fans beautifully open.

You can wet your eyelashes already the same evening after having your lash extensions done. However, please avoid saunas for 24 hours.

  • Clean the extensions 1-2 times a day with a cleaning product intended for them, which you can buy in our beauty salon. You can use a brush to help with cleaning.
  • Always clean your eyelashes also after sweating, swimming or tears.
  • After washing, dry the eyelashes by pressing lightly.
  • Always brush your eyelashes after washing after they have dried, and at other times if necessary.
  • Maintain your eyelashes regularly about every 2-4 weeks.
  • Please always come to lash extension appointment with the cleanest possible eyelashes. Despite the initial cleaning done by the eyelash technician, makeup residues etc. may remain at the base of the eyelashes if the lashes have not been cared for properly at home.

Avoid these with lash extensions

  • The use of oily products near the eyes should be avoided. Oil weakens the durability of the adhesive bond.
  • The use of cleaning products other than those intended for eyelash extensions when cleaning eyelashes should be avoided. Cleansers intended for the face often contain ingredients unsuitable for extensions, which can weaken the permanence of the extensions, and their ingredients are designed to optimally meet the needs of the skin and maintain the skin’s moisture. The products intended for lash extensions are optimized for eye hygiene and the best possible permanence of the extensions.
  • Mascara should not be used with eyelash extensions.
  • Heavy use of eye makeup can weaken the permanence of the extensions, as residues of them easily remain at the base of the eyelashes. Please check that the products you use are oil-free and water-soluble, waterproof makeup should not be used near eyelash extensions.
  • Also avoid excessive touching and rubbing of the eyelashes, and do not bend the extensions with eyelash curlers either.
  • Frequent use of sauna can weaken the permanence of the extensions. During the first day, the sauna must be completely avoided.
  • You should be careful with cotton swabs and pads with eyelash extensions, because they can easily tear the eyelashes and they can leave fibers in the eyelashes.

Possible reasons why lash extensions might not last:

  • Eyelashes being dirty (makeup residue or oil) before applying, or eyes leaking when applying. In this case, the glue bond with the natural eyelash will not be strong, and the fibers will come off quickly after the appointment.
  • Bad washing, insufficient home care or home care with unsuitable products, and a flu, when a large amount of discharge is secreted.
  • In summer, the permanence may be weaker, e.g. due to humid air, sweating, swimming and saunas.
  • Some medications, antibiotics, diseases (e.g. thyroid diseases), eating omega-3, biotin or other supplements that affect the condition of the hair and lashes can change the quality of your own eyelashes and weaken the permanence of eyelash extensions.
  • Use of oily products, use of oily eye drops, heavy makeup on eye lids or use of mascara.
  • Rubbing of eyelashes and discharge of eyes.
  • A natural eyelash with a glassy texture or oily skin can affect the permanence of the eyelash.
  • Hormones (pregnancy, breastfeeding, e-pills or other hormonal contraceptives and stress) can affect the quality and growth of eyelashes and thereby also the permanence of eyelash extensions.
  • Sleeping with your face against the pillow.
  • The growth rate of the natural eyelash affects how quickly the eyelashes are renewed. With normal regeneration, the natural eyelash constantly falls off, so the eyelash extension also comes off with the eyelash.
  • If the eyelash extensions have not been applied correctly or bad glue has been used (outdated glue or the used glue drop has been changed too infrequently), this has an impact on the permanence of the eyelash extensions.
  • Applying conditions, such as temperature and air humidity, affect the behavior of the lash glue and the permanence of the eyelash extensions.

The guarantee of our lash extensions

If, during the following days, you notice an exceptionally large amount of fibers coming off or something unusual, or you otherwise have questions about the service or product you received, please contact laadunvalvonta@bluelagoon.fi without delay.

In our lash extension services, a possible complaint must be made within a week from the time of the service. We handle each complaint on a case-by-case basis. Our warranty conditions include careful compliance with home care instructions.

Please note that the natural life cycle of eyelashes is individually about 4-12 weeks, during which all eyelashes are renewed. So it’s quite normal for around 1-5 eyelashes to fall out per day per eye. Along with the eyelash, the fibers attached to it also come off. As the adhesive bond ages, some random fibers or volume fans may also come off as they are, without their own lash.

Preparation for Lash Lift

  • We recommend coming to the treatment without mascara if possible, so that your treatment time is not spent on cleaning the mascara. If necessary, we clean the mascara at the beginning of the treatment, but especially water-resistant mascara should be avoided before coming to the treatment.
  • Contact lenses should be removed before treatment.
  • After removing eyelash extensions, you should wait one growth season (about 8 weeks) before Lash Lift.
  • Lash Lift can be performed on eyelashes approximately every 8 weeks.
  • The age limit for Lash and Brow Lift and permanent tinting is 16 years.
  • Use of antihistamine: use of antihistamine before the service may cause dryness in the eyes. Lash Lift can be done, but it should be done carefully and following the customer’s reactions.
  • Regular use of oils on the eyelashes can potentially make the eyelashes an oil film, so that the substances that affect the Lash Lift may not be able to work as effectively, and the end result may be light. Eyelashes can react to the use of oily products individually, and for some the use of oils has no significant consequences, while for others even small amounts of oil in the eyelashes can already affect the final result. It would be a good idea to stop using oily products on your eyelashes a few weeks before Lash Lift. It is also not recommended to use the oil between your Lash Lift appointments.
  • For customers with dry eyes, sensitization to the glue may be more likely.
  • Eye diseases, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma are not an obstacle to the Lash Lift treatment.

Contraindications – obstacles to Lash Lift:

  • The age limit for Lift services is 16 years
  • The Lift service cannot be performed if you are allergic to any of the ingredients contained in the product. Allergic reactions are extremely rare. However, it is possible that the skin of the eyelids may react to permanent lifting agents with redness or itching. Customers allergic to cosmetics must undergo an allergy test before the service. Note Allergy tests are not performed at Blue Lagoon.
  • Wounded skin in the treated area.
  • Eye and eyelid infections are an obstacle to Lash Lift.
  • Pregnancy and breast feeding
  • Alopecia
  • Cytostat and radiation treatments
  • Trichotillomania

Home care instructions after Lash Lift

  • Eyelashes must not be washed or put on makeup for the first 24 hours, as it weakens the effect of Lash Lift. Please note that if you eat supplements that affect eyelash growth, the lift may take a shorter time than expected on your eyelashes, because as the eyelashes grow, the curling result gradually disappears from the eyelashes. Lash Lift does not straighten during 8 weeks, but the curling “grow out” as your eyelashes grow and renew. The life cycle of a natural eyelash is 8-10 weeks.
  • We recommend moisturizing your eyelashes with an oil-free and colorless eyelash serum twice a day. In this way, the eyelashes remain well-groomed and moisturized throughout the growth period.
  • You can use mascara and remove make-up without worry even if you had Lash Lift. However, we recommend avoiding the use of waterproof mascara. If you think your lashes are too lifted or straight, we can lighten or strengthen the result within the next 7 days from the initial appointment. In that case, please contact us as soon as possible and send accurate pictures of your eyelashes to our email. laadunvalvonta@bluelagoon.fi

Preparation for permanent tinting

  • Before permanent tinting of the eyebrows, it would be good to exfoliate the skin in the area of the eyebrows at home, so that the end result is as even as possible and the color does not stick darker to drier areas of the skin.
  • Some of the self-tanning ingredients applied to the face can react with the eyebrow color, so the use of self-tanning products should be avoided two days before coloring and two days after coloring.
  • We recommend coming to the treatment without mascara if possible, so that your treatment time is not spent on cleaning the mascara. Especially water-resistant mascara should be avoided before coming to the treatment.
  • The permanent colors we use do not contain PPD, but the permanent colors contain a PPD derivative (toluene-2,5-Diamine).

Obstacles to permanent tinting

  • The age limit for permanent tinting is 16 years
  • Permanent tinting cannot be done if you are allergic to one of the ingredients in the product.
  • Wounded skin in the treated area
  • Eye and eyelid infections are an obstacle to permanent eyelash tinting.

Pregnancy / breastfeeding & beauty care

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be done. Hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect e.g. skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, etc., so even if pregnancy or breastfeeding are not mentioned in the obstacles to the service, taking beauty treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore customer’s responsibility.

After eyebrow shaping

After shaping the eyebrows, the skin may have a slight redness. Sugaring and waxing can also cause a slight tingling and warming sensation, which is completely normal and often calms down in no time. After shaping your brows, our Brow Bar professional applies concealer to your brows, and you’re ready to go straight to town right after the treatment!

Especially after sugaring and waxing, you should avoid heavy sweating, swimming or exfoliating products in the eyebrow area during the same day. You should also protect yourself well from the sun.

Things to consider before eyebrow lamination

Treating your eyebrows at home with a keratin serum is very important. Whenever the hair is treated, there should be care products at home that moisturize, treat and maintain the condition of the hair. You can buy the keratin serum in our beauty salons in connection with the service. It can be used for eyebrows and eyelashes.

Laminating the brows makes the hairs more porous, so the permanent color sticks to them stronger than normal. Your brows may be slightly darker 1-2 days after the service until you wash your brows for the first time after treatment. This can be done after 24 hours. Permanent color is kept for at least the minimum time, so that the color stays in the eyebrows for as long as possible. We have many different shade options that can be customized according to your wishes.

We recommend taking the service at least four days before an important trip, so that the color in your brows is slightly lighter from the first treatment.

Some of the self-tanning agents applied to the face react with the eyebrow dye, so the use of self-tanner should be avoided at least two days before coloring and two days after coloring.

For sparse / thin eyebrows you may not get the desired thicker end result. If you are worried about booking the service, you can send a picture of your eyebrows for consultation to info@bluelagoon.fi.

Lamination is typically renewed every 8-12 weeks, depending on the growth cycle of your own eyebrows.

Use of oils on eyebrows

Regular use of oils in eyebrows makes so-called oil film, in which case the substances affecting the lamination cannot work as effectively, and the final result may remain light. Eyebrows react to the use of oily products individually. Certain oils have no significant consequences, while for others, even small amounts of oil in the eyebrows can have a strong effect on the final result. According to the most recent recommendation, the use of oil-containing products in the brows should be stopped already 4-8 weeks before lamination. Oil is also not recommended between the Brow Lift treatments.

Contraindications to Brow Lift

Allergies
Allergic reactions are extremely rare. However, it is possible that the skin of the eyebrows may react to the lamination materials with redness or itching. Customers allergic to cosmetics must undergo an allergy test before the service. Note An official allergy test can only be performed by a doctor.

Pregnancy and breast feeding
The body’s hormonal balance changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and it also affects hair growth. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend taking the service only when the hormone activity has balanced, in order to get the desired end result. There is a possibility that the eyebrows will not set as desired due to hormones.

Alopecia
Brow lamination treatment cannot be performed on a client with alopecia.

Cytostat or radiotherapy
It is not recommended for cytostatic or radiotherapy patients to do lamination during treatments.

Trichotillomania
A person suffering from trichotillomania, i.e. compulsive plucking of eyelashes, hair or eyebrows. Can’t do lamination.

Age limit
The age limit for Brow Lift is 16 years.

Eye infections
If you have an eye infection, we do not recommend taking the service when the inflammation is active.

Home care instructions after Brow Lift

The brows must not be washed or put on make-up for the first 24 hours, as it weakens the effect of the lamination and may dry out the hair. If you eat supplements that affect hair growth, the lamination may take a shorter time, because as the eyebrows grow, the lamination gradually disappears from the eyebrows. Brow Lift does not “disappear” during 8 weeks, instead it grows out as your brows grow and regenerate. The life cycle of eyebrows is 8-12 weeks.

The use of keratin mascara is highly recommended and important after lamination, so that the moisture balance and general condition of the brows remains throughout the growth period. Keratin mascara is oil-free and is used in the morning and evening. You can also use it on your eyelashes under mascara. You can buy keratin mascara from our beauty salons.

You can use brow make-up and remove make-up without worry, even if you have had brow lamination done. We do not recommend using waterproof make-up in the eyebrows after lamination. For makeup removal, we recommend oil-free makeup removal products.

If you feel that the design of the Brow Lift is made too strongly upwards or they do not seem to settle into place, we can do a repair treatment for them within the next 7 days after the original service. In this case, please contact the beauty salon as soon as possible.

Preparation for artificial nails

  • You can remove the regular nail polish from your nails if you want, but this is not necessary.
  • When the nails are in good condition, the artificial nails also stay better, so you can start using nail oil even before applying the artificial nails.
  • You don’t need to know what kind of nails you want, our nail technicians know how to design nails with you.
  • Age limit for artificial nails is 16 years.

Contraindications

  • Acrylate allergy
  • Infection in the surrounding skin or nail
  • Fungal infection
  • Onycholysis if the area is more than 1/4 of the nail
  • Onychomadesis
  • Suspection of melanoma
  • Bruise if the area is more than 1/4 of the nail bed
  • The age limit for our nail services is 16 years

Home care instructions for artificial nails nails

The maintenance time for artificial nails is 3-5 weeks on average. The personal maintenance time depends on the condition of your own nail, the stress on the nail and the rate of nail growth. The maintenance time must be observed, because as the nail grows, the support built on the artificial nail grows with the nail, and the long-grown nails no longer protect the natural nails well enough. Cuticles should be oiled daily with Dadi Oil cuticle oil, as it improves the condition of your own nails and skin, which contributes to better durability of artificial nails.

In addition to nail maintenance, the customer should note:

  • Although nails are hard, they cannot be used as “tools”, i.e. to open cans/lids with nails
  • Nails cannot be left in the doorway or under heavy objects
  • You shouldn’t put unnecessary strain on your nails. Hard shocks and bumps can break the nail, and in the worst case, damage the natural nail. In
  • these situations, nail repair is not covered by the guarantee.
  • When pressing the buttons with the nail, unnecessary pressure can be applied to the nail.
  • When using chemicals and strong detergents, you should protect your nails. Strong substances are not good for the skin, but they can also damage the structure of the nail.
  • Don’t tear, chip or cut the artificial nail. The nail mass on top of your own nail must not be removed other than by filing.

The guarantee of our artificial nails

New artificial nails made at Blue Lagoon always have a 1-week  (7 days) guarantee after the appointment. If you have come to the structural nail service with structural nails made elsewhere, the nails cannot necessarily be guaranteed, if the nails made elsewhere are not done right or if the nails use technique (e.g. tips) that we do not use.

The guarantee covers possible mistakes, defects or breakages caused by the work and the product used. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by the customer’s use, which is caused by neglecting the home care instructions. Detachment due to the poor condition of your own nail or if the artificial nails are too long for your own natural nail are not covered by the guarantee.

If you have questions about your nails after the nail appointment, something worries you, or your nails break, always contact our quality control as soon as possible: laadunvalvonta@bluelagoon.fi. You must contact us about issues covered by the guarantee during the guarantee period (7 days from the treatment appointment). To speed up the processing of the matter, please include a picture of the nail/nails in the message, as well as an explanation of what happened as accurately as possible.

Preparation for nail service (gel polish and Natural nail overlay)

  • If you want, you can remove the regular nail polish from your nails, before your nail appointment. However, this is not necessary.
  • If you have Shellac, gel polish or Natural nail overlay applied elsewhere than in Blue Lagoon, please make an appointment to remove the old material first.
  • The condition of the nail always affects the permanence of the gel polish and the Natural nail overlay. Daily use of cuticle oil even before the nail appointment helps the polish / nails last.
  • When making an appointment, consider whether you want a one-color, French or decorative polish and make an appointment to correct service.
  • IBX treatment is recommended as an additional treatment for clients who, for example, have a really chipped, brittle nail.
  • Age limit for gel polish and natural nail overlay is 16 years.

Pregnancy / breastfeeding & beauty care

  • Fungal infection
  • Onycholysis if the area is more than 1/4 of the nail
  • Onychomadesis
  • Suspection of melanoma
  • Bruise if the area is more than 1/4 of the nail bed
  • The age limit for our nail services is 16 years

Home care instructions for nail services

Your nails are jewelry, not tools. For this reason, we recommend you treat them nicely and follow the home care instructions. We grant a seven (7) day quality guarantee for all our nail services. The quality guarantee covers possible problems and mistakes caused by the service. The validity of the quality guarantee requires compliance with the home care instructions. The quality guarantee does not cover, for example, broken nails caused by trauma, natural wear and tear of nails, detachment of individual crystals or neglect of home care instructions.

Always get in touch with our quality control if something happens to your nails or you notice something out of the ordinary. Let’s see together what we can do and how to fix it.

We recommend using a high-quality cuticle oil at least twice a day. However, you can use the oil more often and in certain cases it is recommended. Apply cuticle oil to the skin around the nails and under the nails. This helps to keep the skin around the nails beautiful and moisturized between the appointments. It also extends the duration of your nails and also prevents certain types of durability problems.

With CrystaLac gel polishes and the Natural nail overlay services, it is recommended to apply oil also on top of the nail itself. This helps the nails / polish maintain its flexibility and thus it lives better with the natural nail.

In our beauty salons, you can find high-quality Dadi Oil cuticle oils. If necessary, ask your nail technician for more information.

We recommend using a high-quality hand cream at least twice a day. This helps to keep your skin always beautiful and moisturized.

We always recommend the use of warm gloves in connection with large temperature changes. When it’s warm, the natural nail expands, and when it’s cold, it contracts strongly. In such situations, the nail masses do not live as strongly or at all and this may cause durability problems.

Flexible masses such as CrystaLac gel polish or Natural nail overlay “stiffen” in the cold, momentarily losing their flexibility. This exposes the polish and the nails to breaks and cracks. Especially in the winter time, always put gloves on your hand already inside, even for short trips.

  • Wash the nail area daily with a nail brush and maintain good hygiene. Disinfect your hands whenever necessary.
  • You never use your nails as tools. This prevents nail wear, durability problems and nail breakage.
  • Do not tap, twist, pluck, bite, tear or otherwise stress your nails or the skin around them. Such constant different stresses on the nails can lead to durability problems or nail breakage. Skin breaks and wounds can be an obstacle to the service and/or make it difficult to produce a perfect end result.
  • Please be careful when pressing buttons, etc. Use, for example, your knuckles or another aid, such as a pen. This prevents stress on the nails, which can lead to durability problems or nail breakage.
  • Please wear protective gloves when dealing with coloring food substances (e.g. turmeric, blueberries, citrus fruits, etc.), hair dyes, color masks, etc. This prevents discoloration of the nails or the skin around them. Please note that the matte surface is more sensitive to staining than the glossy surface.
  • Please always wear protective gloves when cleaning, when dealing with strong chemicals such as cleaning chemicals, when doing dishes, gardening, etc. This protects your nails from wear, dirt, breakage and possible durability problems. This procedure also protects the skin of your hands.
You must be careful when lifting boxes, digging things out of e.g. a bag, opening car doors, using zippers/seat belts/child seats, etc. This prevents possible stability problems and broken nails.

Preparation for sugaring

When you come to sugaring for the first time, the hair should be 0.5-1 cm long so that it comes off easily. There should be at least 14 days after shaving before sugaring. When sugared regularly, even hairs shorter than this start to come out.

Applying sugar paste to long hairs may feel more unpleasant and “blocking”, but long hairs can be shortened first at home or the salon if necessary. The cosmetologist cleans your skin before sugaring, so you don’t have to prepare for sugaring in any way – other than by growing a little hair. Exfoliating the skin the day before sugaring is not recommended. It is recommended to avoid the use of very oily or greasy products in the area to be treated just before the treatment, as it can make it a little difficult for the sugar to stick to the hair.

Here’s how you can prepare for sugaring:

  • Do not remove the hair before the treatment, the hair should be 0.5 – 1 cm long.
  • You don’t have to grow hair really long for sugaring.
  • Do not exfoliate the area to be sugared for 24 hours before the treatment.
  • Avoid particularly oily products on the treated area right before the treatment.
  • Before Brazilian sugaring, please wash yourself in our toilet.

Contraindications to sugaring, we do not recommend sugaring if:

  • The age limit for Brazilian sugaring is 18 years.
  • Your skin is really irritated from the sugared area
  • You have painful or uncomfortable enlarged varicose veins in the sugared area
  • You have new scars on the skin being treated. The scar should be allowed to heal before sugaring.
  • Your skin is sunburnt from the sugared area.
  • You have warts in the treated area, sugaring them is avoided so they don’t spread.
  • You have large bruises in the sugared area.
  • Some men have a networked root system in the beard area (the roots are together under the skin), this could lead to tearing and inflammation of the hair follicle during sugaring. We don’t do sugaring for men’s beards.
  • You have big elevated moles in the treated area.
  • You have Retin-A medication, Retinol treatment or medication, or Roacutan medication. After strong acne medication such as isotretinoin and roaccutane, you should wait 6 months before sugaring, so that the skin has had time to fully recover.

Home care instructions after sugaring

  • The skin must not be peeled the day before, the same day, or the day after sugaring.
  • It is good to avoid sports and saunas for 12 hours.
  • After sugaring the armpits, avoid using deodorant for 12 hours.
  • After sugaring the facial area, avoid blocking makeup for 12 hours.
  • Exfoliate your skin 2 times a week and moisturize daily so that the hairs can grow back normally
  • Remember to protect your skin from the sun in the days after sugaring. The cosmetologist also moisturizes your skin with a soothing treatment cream that protects sensitive skin.
  • Redness of the skin after sugaring is completely normal. If your skin is very red after sugaring, immediately after the treatment avoid tight, abrasive clothing, heat such as a hot bath, solarium or sunbathing, or scratching or rubbing the skin.

Preparation for pedicure

  • If you have any wishes regarding the intensity of the massage or anything else, please tell the beautician and she will take them into account. Please also tell the beautician if you are particularly bothered or worried about something related to your feet, or if you want special attention to it in the treatment.
  • If you have particularly challenging feet or type 1 diabetes, we always recommend consulting a podiatrist.
  • We recommend coming to the pedicure without nail polish, so that the treatment time is not spent removing the nail polish.
  • Please note that pedicure treatments are performed by a beautician in our beauty salons.

We do not recommend a pedicure if you have:

  • Wounds in the leg area
  • Inflammation in the leg area
  • Infectious skin diseases in the area of the feet.
  • Circulatory or nervous disorders or severe skin or nail problems in the area of the feet.
  • If you have type 1 diabetes, we recommend contacting a podiatrist.

Home care instructions after pedicure

  • At home, feet should be treated daily with a moisturizer. Remember to rub the cream on the cuticles as well.
  • At home, shorten the nails with nail scissors or nail clippers, but not too short, because the nail’s job is to protect the skin. Nails that are cut too short can cause soreness and chafing of the ends of the toes, as well as ingrown nails.
  • At most once a month, you can thin out corns or calluses by lightly scraping or using a pumice stone.
  • At home, you can also exfoliate your feet or use foot masks.

Preparing for the massage

Both our massages use a classic manual massage that targets the skin, fatty tissue and muscles. Relaxing massages are typically performed by beauticians, in which case the goal of the massage is to care for the skin, promote the client’s health and relax. If you want a stronger muscle massage, we recommend contacting a sports masseuse.

You don’t need to make special preparations when you come for a massage. Our professional will discuss your wishes together with you before starting the treatment. During the massage, the client is covered up, and only one treated area is exposed at a time. When massaging the back, the customer has to lie on their stomach, which could damage any makeup, so we don’t recommend coming for a massage right before an important trip.

contraindications, we do not recommend massage at all in the following cases:

  • Illness (flu, etc.)
  • Contagious skin disease
  • Heart failure
  • High blood pressure
  • Malignant tumor
  • Pregnancy

We do not recommend massage for areas with:

  • Inflammation
  • Wound
  • Varicose
  • Venous occlusion
  • Ischemic tissue
  • Bruise
  • Sprain / muscle strain
  • Fracture
  • Irritated mole

Pregnancy / breastfeeding & beauty care

Hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can effect the skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, etc., so taking any beauty treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore the customer’s responsibility.

After the massage

  • Drink enough water
  • Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours
  • Try to keep your day unhurried and as relaxed as possible to get the most out of a relaxing massage
